I made a special birthday card for my niece. I love handmade cards because of the care and authenticity that I put into these.
I have finally framed my picture titled Hawaiian Sunset. Frames do not have to be expensive, and found this one for three dollars in a clearance bin. My dad loves to save even more money on frames, so he he goes to second hands stores. Some of the frames at places like the Goodwill are donated by people who just have too many things, so you can find some really good quality frames there. I will never pay more than three dollars for a frame, and I think the next time I will go to a thrift store to find an even cheaper one.
This is a very beautiful picture and I just wanted to share it with you. To me, I feel like it has a very artistic look to it. It is a blurry picture of a California sunset, but I love how the colors blur together in this shot. It looks more like a painting than a picture, so I guess that is why I like it. Sometimes blurry pictures have more character than clear ones. I was not trying to make this shot blurry when I took it, but I really like the way it turned out.
I just love to start new drawings, but the problem is I need to stay on top of it! This is the progress thus far on my new drawing. I will be updating this page as I continue to draw my Hawaiian sunset palm tree scene. I wish I lived in Hawaii, but drawing pictures of beautiful Hawaiian sunsets is the next best thing. I keep promising myself I will make it back there one day soon.
Today I am positing a picture of my completed woodburning. I used oil paint to color in the bird on the piece of wood. After the paint had dried, I used the wood burning tool to put the finishing touches on the dark outline of the picture. I am very happy with how my project turned out.
